GV II*

A fine Cl7 timber-framed and plastered house with a jet tied upper storey and exposed timber framing. The front has 3 gables (2 jet tied above the 1st storey). 2 storeys, attics and cellars. The 1st storey has 3 C18 double hung sash windows with glazing bars, in flush cased frames, 2 later sash windows with vertical glazing bars and small casements flanking the window at the south end. The house has a fine richly carved shell canopy which has been removed during restoration and is said to be stored safely. Roofs tiled with C17 rain water heads on either side of the central gable, bearing the initials and date:- FJ 1679. RCHM 25.
