7/25 Pynes House including Coach-house

House and adjoining coach-house (now garage). Early C19. Plastered cob or rubble;
rubble stacks topped with C19 brick; slate roofs. 2-room house with central
staircase plan facing road to north. Coach-house with hayloft over adjoining to
right (west). Gable-ended house with end stacks is built up on a stone platform and
set back slightly from road. 2 storeys. 3-window front, originally symmetrical.
Central 6-panel door, the upper pair glazed, and late C19 gabled porch with chamfered
posts and small brackets at the top and shaped bargeboards. To right late C19 bay
window with canted sides containing horned sashes without glazing bars upsets
symmetry. To left of door and both sides at first floor level are C19 2-light 2-pane
casements and centre first floor is pointed arch-headed stair window with Gothick
glazing bars and including small diamond pane leaded glass. Stone platform projects
forward to street and carries low iron railings with the plain pointed tops bent back
towards the house. Rear elevation includes 16 pane sashes. The adjoining coach-
house is slightly lower than the main house and projects forward onto the street. It
includes a C20 garage door and a C19 plank door to left and, at first floor level, a
loading hatch to former hayloft.
