Rock Mill

House and adjoining water mill. Circa C16/17 house and adjoining C18/19 water mill
dated 1838. The house is of stone rubble, partly colour washed. Thatched roof with
half-hipped and gabled ends. Wing to east forming L-shaped plan. Two storeys. Two
window range. C20 casements. Left hand two storey opening, weatherboarded, and
with C20 casement inserted. C20 lean-to porch in the angle and C20 conservatory on
gable end. Stone ridge chimney stack and brick stack at gable end.
Interior: stopped and chamfered ceiling beams, plank and muntin screen has probably
been reset or imported.
Watermill adjoining north, probably C18, the ground storey dressed stone, later
stone rubble above with datestone 1838. Half-hipped pantile roof. Three storeys.
Two casement windows to each floor on end wall. Gabled dormer on north side. Circa
C19 gabled wing on north side with reset datestone "1795". The dwelling
accommodation has been extended into the mill and there is no machinery inside.
