Newlands Cottages

House. Circa C16 with early C19 extension, whitewashed stone rubble. Thatched roof
with gabled ends and eyebrow dormers. West end has lower-pitched slate roof.
Situated at right angles to road. Two storeys and one storey and attic, five window
range. Small modern casements. Stone rubble stack at ridge and brick chimney stack
at gable end to road. Lean-to at rear enclosing semi-circular area. Interior:
jointed cruck trusses. Central chimney with chamfered bressumer and jambs. Stopped
chamfer ceiling beams.
