Barn. C17. Timber frame on high red brick sill, dark weatherboarded with
old red tile roof. A tall 4-bays barn facing S with double doors. Heavy
jowled posts, mid-height rails curved braces to tie-beams, inclined
straight queen-posts in gable-end trusses, 2 clasped-purlins in each
roofslope. In the other trusses the upper purlin is clasped between a
collar and the principal, the lower purlin between the principal and a
parallel member below, which then curves down to joint into the top of
the tie-beam at right-angles. The upper end is jointed into the underside
of the collar. Straight wind-braces at gable ends.
