GV II

House. C16 or early C17, 3 additional gabled rear wings C20. Timber
frame exposed on 1st floor, infill panels and casing to ground floor in
painted brick. Steep old red tile roofs. A long 2-storeys house facing
E, with gabled short rear wing a third from N end, and additional C20
similar wings giving the appearance of 2 pairs of linked gabled
2-storeys rear wings, one at each end, with gap between, opposite large
internal chimney in main range. E front shows framing of 5 structural
bays, the 2nd from N has prominent tension braces. 6 flush casement
windows. Battened door in N end wall. Wide-spaced studs in walls.
Clasped-purlin roof with collar and queen-struts in N gable.
