Circa 1500 house with later, probably C17 outshot to rear and one modern
and one C18 gabled rear extensions. C18 red brick front of 2 storeys,
4 windows. High pitched, tiled roof with large, off-centre chimney stack.
Brick cornice. 2- and 4-light casement windows in flush, moulded frames.
Door and ground floor windows renewed. Doorcase is an exact replica
of typical St Albans late C18 doorcases, having pilasters with fluted
necking, entablature and pediment both with mutule cornices. One canted
bay window either side of door.
Inside several heavy, exposed beams and old, thick, plank floors; one
flight of a C16 staircase with thick, turned balusters; and an old bake
oven in the rear outshot.
