9/3 Limekiln at NGR ST 1142 3385

Limekiln, now disused. Early C19. Squared and coursed red sandstone. Standard plan set into hillside. Parapet, obscured by ivy at time of survey (January 1984), 3 stone relieving arches, diminishing in size, rectangular opening between
first and second, 3 openings set vertically at base, curved abutments, small square opening on right abutment. A well preserved example, apart from the ivy over the parapet, set in a prominent position overlooking the river with a small
quarry to North.
