Hotel, built as country house c.1830-40. Stuccoed and painted
brick. Low pitched slate roof. Bracketed eaves cornice with
moulded fascia band. 2 storeys. Floor band. Main elevation to
garden,has 8 recessed sash windows, centre and right-hand one
triple hung and in shallow projecting bays. Continuous ground
floor verandah with coved iron roof and slender palmette
columns. Outer and central bays have thin iron arches. Cut metal
valence. Road elevation has several projections. Square porch
with Doric pilasters and pediment. 5-window service block on
right. Interior has well-proportioned ground floor rooms to the
garden elevation, S one with enriched cornice.
