Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings, now farmhouse. Mid and late C17 with late
C19 alterations and additions. Timber framed with plastered infill, partly
rendered with planted and painted timbers; high sandstone rubble plinth to right;
plain tile roof. Approximately 5 framed bays aligned roughly north-south with
attached former farmbuilding of 2 framed bays to north; baffle-entry south end.
Framing: square panels (3 and 4 from sole plate to wall plate) with short corner
braces. One storey and attic. East front: six C19 and C20 timber framed gabled
eaves dormers; brick ridge stack off-centre to left, central brick stack behind
ridge and integral lateral brick stack to-front. 7-window front; late C19 and
C20 2 and 3-light wooden casements. Pair of C20 half-glazed doors to left-with
gabled wooden porch; central lean-to brick porch with C20 glazed door in left-
hand return and bread oven projecting to right; glazed door off-centre to right.
Right+hand gable end has collar and tie-beam truss with v-struts; left-hand
gable end with C19 canted bay. Interior: chamfered beams and timber framed
cross walls; introduced C17 panelling, said to have come from Woolstaston Hall
(q.v.) probably when it was partly demolished in the late C18. It is also said
that the south end of the farmhouse is constructed from reused timber, also
possibly taken from the Hall when it was partly demolished. V.C.H., Vol VIII,
