House, once a shop and also a public house. Late C18, with C20 restoration.
Brick and tile. Symmetrical front (west) of 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows.
Plain roof, brick dentil eaves. Walls of painted brickwork in header bond,
with rubbed flat arches, 1st floor band, plinth; all the ground floor openings
have changed, the central doorway now a window, the south side window widened,
and the north side widened as a doorway with flanking lights. The rear part has
some timber-framing of a smaller earlier building, and there is a brick vaulted
'cellar' built into the steep hillside.
