TM 28 SW
1/126 Hill Farm House (150m
- north of Corner Farmhouse)
-- II

Farmhouse. Late C16/early C17 in 2 phases, with C19 alterations. Timber
framed, mostly encased in C19 red brick but still plastered at the rear. Roof
of glazed black pantiles. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell, lobby entry type. 3
windows, C19 4-light casements with a single horizontal glazing bar to each
light; cambered stuccoed arches with raised keys, C19 door with 6 raised and
fielded panels, the upper 2 glazed. C20 open timber porch. Internal stack,
the shaft rebuilt in C19 with white brick at the angles. Much of the
structure is exposed internally, of good quality; several original windows and
good ground floor open fireplaces. Service end enlarged but evidence for
original partition. The parlour end and probably the present stack are
slightly later additions.
