Lodge for the Forest of Dean (one of the lodges for the Forest of
Dean). Carved tablet between left hand windows reads "Worcester
Lodge 1675", altered and extended in C19. Pebbledashed
rubblestone, slate roof, 2 gable stacks. Single range, with 2
projecting gables at rear of C19. 2 storeys, 2 windows,
casements, with large plain stone lintels on ground floor.
Centre doorway with ogee-moulded surround and high steps, with
projecting glazed porch of c1900, half glazed doors. End gables
have small lights for staircases.
Interior - altered but retains floor beams and 3 roof trusses
(centre one with King post). Purlins are staggered and trenched.
Main feature is 2 end stone fireplaces with newel staircase
around each one (south side blocked between ground and first
floor). Historically important as one of the former forest lodges
of the Forest of Dean.
