Well-head. Probably C19. Built in to sandstone retaining wall, a round shaft of
c 1 metre diameter with opening and steel gate to pointed head set back c 1 metre
in a square-headed opening c 1 metre wide and flanking responds each c 600 mm wide.
The present structure is probably of the C19 but no doubt on a much more ancient
site.
