17th century with alterations. Brick front, with pilasters, distempered.
Steep roof. Machine tiles. 2 windows, at each floor with cambered heads,
sash with glazing bars and flush frames. Brown brick central chimney.
Cambered headed entrance. Hanging sign.

All 4 sides of the Old Market contribute in varying degrees to its general
character. The Old Market is in an important position near the centre of
the town. Nos 9 to 17 (odd) form a group with No 2 Northgate.
