Milestone. Possibly mid C18. Limestone with cast-iron plate.
Stone approximately 0.5m high with segmental arched top has
plate with segmental arch to top centre with relief lettering
1/ To CIRENCESTER/ IX/ To TETBURY/ XXXII/ To BATH. Road
turnpiked 1743 (16 Geo II c22), Cirencester - Monument upon
Lansdown (Bath), stone and plate probably contemporary; stone
marked on OS 1st edition PD map 1816.
