Milestone. Probably early C19 with later plate of post 1862.
Limestone with cast-iron plate. Stone approximately 0.6m high
with segmental-headed plate with relief inscription CIRENR
DISTRICT CIRENR 1. Present plate dates from 1862 Act setting
up Cirencester District of Roads; road previously controlled
by Cirencester Turnpike Trust 1825. Stone is not marked on OS
1st edition Preliminary Drawing map 1816.
