Beechwood and attached piers and
railings

II

House. Early/mid C19. Stucco with interlocking tile mansard
roof. Double-depth plan. Greek Revival style. 2 storeys,
basement and attic; 3-window range. A symmetrical front with
banded rustication to the ground floor, recessed pilaster
corner strips, cornice, panelled parapet and moulded coping.
Steps up to a 3-panel door and rectangular overlight with
diagonal glazing bars, set in a recess; French windows either
side, under a full-width verandah on deep arched brackets; the
first floor is divided into 3 rectangular recesses with
casement windows. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES:
a raised front area below the verandah, with cast-iron
railings and panelled piers to the central steps and at either
end.
