1/17 The Old Rectory

GV II

House. Mid C18. C19. Brick and stone, now rendered. Twin-span
slate roofs, with coped gables with kneelers. 4 gable stacks.
2 storeys, cellar and attic. North front: 1st broken moulded
band. Quoins to left. Off-centre doorway reached by 4 steps,
with 6-panel door with overlight and C19 doorcase with flat hood.
To right, a single glazing-bar sash with cambered arch. Above,
a louvred attic window. To left, two 2-light, mullion and
transom casements, with flat arches. Above, 3 glazing-bar
sashes, with flat arches. Above again, 3 hipped roof dormers
with 2-light casements. To left, a late C19 2-bay extension.
To right, a 3-bay extension of 1834 (The White House, qv).
