GREAT EASTON

SP 8493 HIGH STREET (East Side)

Cottage. Dated 1694. Coursed rubble stone with quoins and Collyweston slate
roof with brick right ridge and left end stacks. Stone coped left facing
gable with kneelers. Front to right. 1½ storeys of, from left, a small C20
bay with part-glared door, centre-opening 3-light casement, part-glazed door
with 1-light to right, and part-glazed door with 1-light to left, within glazed
wooden projecting lean-to. A 2-light and a 3-light hipped dormer over. On
facing gable a 1-light with 3-light over. On centre left a stone tablet (either
restored or renewed) inscribed 'H.C. 1694.'
