House

GV II

House. 1870, extended to left in 1946. Built by the Lovelace Estate. Large red and blue
brick in "rat trap" bond. Slate roofs with some flint in the gables. Original house
"T" shaped with projecting cross wing to right end, extending to left. Two storeys with
end ridge stack to left on plinth. Quatrefoil flower band to ground floor and dentil
brick sill band and eaves decoration above; machicoiated arcading to eaves. Oval
terracotta plaque in gables. 3 casement windows on first floor with original glazing
bars, two windows to ground floor under cambered heads. One window on each floor of
return front to right hand wing, 2 windows on each floor of gable end under projecting
dentilled cambered heads. Door to re-entrant angle under flat hood.
Rear: Whitewashed brick cladding to rear, windows replaced.
