No.53 (Hill Farmhouse)

Farmhouse. Datestone 1797. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate
roof. Originally 3 units with wing to rear forming an L-shape plan. Main front
of 4-window range of 2- and 3-light casements with glazing bars, all under
gauged stone heads with keyblocks. 4-panel part-glazed door to right of centre
has similar head. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and ashlar ridge and end
stacks with moulded cornices. Datestone on right end stack. 4 cast-iron tie-rod
plates at intervals along the main front. Left gable has blocked window openings
with wood lintel. Rear wing has some casement windows with wood lintels.
Interior not inspected but noted as having spine beams.
