C18 and early C19 stuccoed front to an earlier timber-framed building.
3 storeys. Old tiled roof much less steeply pitched than Nos 84 and
85; much higher frontage. Eaves cornice with modillions. 2 windows
each. Sash windows with flush boxes to all except northernmost 2nd
floor window in No 86; thick glazing bars elsewhere intact. Fine
plaster ceiling in 1st floor front rooms: C16-C17 date; graded II*
on account of this. Panelling. Modern shop fronts on ground floor.

The Market House, Technical Institute and Nos 83 to 87 (consec) form a group.
