Substantial house. Probably C17, remodelled early/mid C18; extended late
C19/early C20. Banded limestone and marlstone rubble; limestone with ashlar
dressings; Stonesfield-slate and Welsh-slate roofs with ashlar stacks.
Double-depth plan. 2 storeys plus attic. 4-window front of earlier section has,
to right of centre, a doorway with a projecting ashlar doorcase below a 3-light
stone-mullioned window with label. To right is a recessed cross window above a
large 3-light window, both in stone architraves with angle rolls and projecting
key/blocks. To left of doorway is a large C20 bow window below further
architraved windows of one and 2 lights. Roof has 4 gabled roof dormers. Added
range extends to left. Double-gabled right return wall has an architraved window
above the present main entrance, a C20 Venetian window and a stone-mullioned
cellar window. Rear has further architraved windows and steps to a basement
dairy, interior not inspected.
