House. Mid C16. Timber framed, rendered, hipped plaintile roof. 2 cell end
chimney plan. 2 storeys. Large external offset stack to right hand return, in
C16 English bond brickwork. C20 porch and door, to right 2 C20 timber
casements. 3 first floor casements above ground floor openings. Lean-to to left
and rear, where part of original wall is removed. Interior. Exposed frame with
arched braces from post to stud, and evidence of wattle slots. Some of left hand
cell frame removed and the main beam reset. Large open brick fireplace with
chamfered bressumer. Axial beam with almost lambs tongue stop. Stairs in
original space to rear, but turned round. First floor blocked mortices for
3-light diamond mullion window. Shutter grooves in front wall and in one,
reused, internal partition.
