GV II

Lynn Savings Bank, now meeting house. 1858. Red brick with
ashlar dressings and slate roof. Double-pile plan. Tudor
Gothick style. 2-bay facade, the right-hand (east) bay is set
back and contains the 4-centered doorway. 2-light cusped
overlight. Left bay lit through a 5-light transomed window to
ground floor and an oriel to upper floor. Oriel on corbelled
apron with a carved pelican pecking its breast, an optimistic
Christian image for a Savings Bank. Oriel lights transomed and
cusped. Shouldered gable above. Over right bay is a
crenellated parapet. Gabled roofs.
