House. c1870. Red brick, random burnt headers, black pointing;
roof of blue and red fishscale clay tiles in diaper pattern,
terracotta cresting. Ridge stack to left with moulded cornice,
chamfered corners. L plan, 2 bays with gabled wing projecting
to front left. Chamfered plinth. Pierced barge-boards.
Entrance to right under label, chamfered brick architrave,
vertically boarded door with original ironmongery. Ground
floor canted bay to left with hipped fishscale tile roof and
moulded cornice; iron casements in timber surrounds with
lozenge glazing; splayed brick sills. 2-light window to first
floor with label, casement and sill detailed as above. Side
windows similar. Blank window to first floor right gable wall.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached side wall to right, with
half-round brick coping, ramped up to gate pier approx 3.3m
with painted stone cap. Boundary wall to High Street with
chamfered plinth, rendered brick coping, pier approx 2m to
right with painted stone cap. Gate, timber, lower part
vertically boarded, cast-iron rails above with decorative
finials. Formerly a gardener's cottage of the Gibson Estate.
