GV II

2 town houses. Early C19. Local Elvan rubble with granite
dressings; No.55 (right) with extra dressings as stretchers
linking jambstones and as lintel courses; asbestos slate roof
with tall moulded fascia board; brick end stacks. Double-depth
plan plus rear wing to No.55. 3 storeys; overall 3-window
range. No.55 has 2-window range with original 8-pane sash to
2nd floor left, others are horned copies with glazing bars;
doorway on right with arcaded overlight. No.55A has 1-window
range: original 12-pane hornless sash over original canted
oriel with 16-pane central sash, 4-pane sidelights and moulded
cornice, over 4-pane hornless sash, possibly original sash
with glazing bars removed. 2nd-floor windows are square, both
houses have panelled doors: 5-panel door to No.55 within
moulded architrave with corner blocks and roundels and similar
door to No.55A but with 2 top panels now 1 glazed panel.
INTERIORS not inspected but likely to be of interest.
