Public road bridge. 1837-1841. Brick and stone. Single
elliptical arch with dressed stone opening and keystone. Brick
band, solid parapet and piers. Stone coping. Iron rope-fenders
on arch edges to towpath. Towpath retaining wall with stone
edging. The Bridgwater and Taunton Canal was constructed
between 1824-1827 with James Hollinsworth as engineer.
