Milestone. Mid C18 on turnpike road from London to Exeter. Sandstone with cast
iron plate. Block cl m high, 400 mm wide and 300 mm thick to rounded top,
shaped plate records 'Wincanton 7 Hindon 7'. Set back and against wall of
Milestone cottage ( q.v.).
