SU 27 NE BAYDON ALDBOURNE ROAD

2/104 Baydon House Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Dated 1744. Vitrified brick with red brick dressings,
slate roof. 2-storey, 3 bays with recessed wing left of further 3
bays. Central hall and 2 rooms deep. Elevation symmetrical with
projecting gabled porch of c1960 and panelled door. Centre bay
slightly broken forward and gabled with datestone in roundel in
tympanum. 12-pane sashes with heavy glazing bars and with
alternating square and segmental heads, all formed with gauged
brick with stone keystone. Roof hipped with stacks rising from
walls between front and back rooms. Rear wing of c1850, margin
glazed segmental headed sashes and blocked door at junction with
house. Left gable stack.
