Pair of houses in row. Mid to late C18. Flemish bond
brickwork, slate roof, brick stack.
3 storeys, 2+2-windowed. All 12-pane sashes with brick
voussoirs and plain keystone with cornice, stone cills. No.43
has late C20, and No.44 a modified C19 shop front
incorporating a wide set-back multi-pane C20 bow. To the right
is a glazed door on 2 steps in C19 pilasters under a shallow
transom-light with decorative bars, and an entablature with
incised decoration. Coped parapet. Large central brick ridge
stack. The back has various C20 additions. INTERIOR not
inspected.
