House in row. Early C19 front on C17 fabric. Flemish bond
brickwork, timber-framing, tile roof. Brick parapeted front to
hipped tile roof on framed structure and a brick back wing;
throughway to left. No.49A is entered from Clarks Alley, to
the right, under the adjoining building.
2 storeys, 2-windowed. 16-pane sashes to brick voussoirs and
fluted keystones with cornice, stone cills. Late C19 shopfront
in pilasters with fascia and 3 paired console brackets. To the
left, an arched opening to a set-back C20 door. Top 8 courses
of brickwork rebuilt or repointed, and with concrete coping.
No stack visible. INTERIOR not inspected.
