27/07/73 Nos.1 AND 2
House in row, formerly 2. Late C16. Unbraced box
timber-framing with plaster, brick underbuild, tile roof,
brick stack. A steep-pitched roof over jettied upper floor,
now underbuilt in brick but jetty expressed; gable end to

2 storeys and attic, 3-windowed. At first floor a small-pane
C18 three-light casement to left, central 2-light, and to
right a larger 3-light C19 with horizontal bars. At ground
floor are three 2-light casements with transom, with
horizontal bar, probably C19, possibly earlier. Far left is
6-panel fielded door under 4-pane narrow transom light, and
another, without overlight, centre. In right gable a good C19
attic light and a 16-pane casement at first floor. Small stack

arch to the adjacent Tolsey House (qv).
INTERIOR not accessible, but appears to be in poor condition
at time of survey.
