Tilden Farmhouse

GV II

Granary. Late C17 or early C18, with late C18 or early C19
alterations. Timber framed. Rear (west) lean-to, and underbuilt
ground floor of gable ends red and grey brick, first floor
weatherboarded. Plain tile roof. 3 timber-framed bays. 2 storeys.
Half-hipped roof. First-floor loading door to left gable end, first
floor otherwise unpierced. Ground floor open to front with posts on
padstones. Late C18 or early C19 rear lean-to. Later lean-to to left
gable end. Interior: gunstock-jowled posts. Original studding.
Clasped-purlin roof with diminishing principal rafters and straight
windbraces. Included for group value.
