Terrace of 25 similar houses, 2 with shop fronts. c1830.
Roughly-coursed, dressed Killas with brick arches; grouted
slate roofs to Nos 33 & 34, otherwise replaced with asbestos
slate; brick end stacks. Double-depth plan; each house has a
reception room at the front and a kitchen behind; most with
rear service wings; side entrance halls; Nos 43 & 50 have 2
rooms at the front with entrance between; through-passages on
left of No.26 and between Nos 45 & 46. 2 storeys; each house
of 2-window range. No.34 has mid-C19 shop front with moulded
pilasters and original entablature with fascia; No.46 has old
shop front. Most are built in pairs with a pair of doorways in
the centre, others have doorways to one side. Keyed
round-headed doorways with blind fanlights except Nos 31 with
spoked fanlight and No.32 with glazed fanlight. No.26 has
original panelled door. Keyed segmental arches over C19 or C20
sashes except for Nos 27, 32, 35, 40, 47, 48, 49 & 50 which
have C20 windows; No.30 has blind window (over doorway) with
glazing bars (with margin panes) painted on. INTERIORS not
inspected. Daniell Street has one of the best and most
complete examples of early C19 planned terraces of small
houses in the south-west.
