GV II

House. c1800. Timber-framed and plastered with ashlar lining
on a brick plinth, all colourwashed. Slate roof, red brick
stretcher bond stack. Plan rectangular. 2 storeys. N front
elevation: 2 window range, sash windows, moulded architraves,
thin glazing bars, first floor, 3x4 panes, ground floor, 1 of
4x4 panes, cellar grille below, adjacent doorway, overlight,
door has 4 beaded flush panels, round headed footscraper in
plinth. Stack off centre to W. Rear S elevation: similar to
front, ground floor C20 restored doorway with moulded
architrave. Door has 2 glazed upper panes and single depressed
moulded panel. Window similar to front 4x4 panes. First floor
two 3-light casement windows glazing bars, 3x2 panes. E end
elevation: ground floor, 2 similar early C20 3-light windows,
first floor, one similar of 2 lights. Timber wallplates
visible. INTERIOR: large axial ceiling joist on ground floor,
off centre towards front suggests house may have earlier C17
design.
