Elim Pentecostal Church

GV II

Public house, now a shop. Mid C19 alteration of earlier
building. Stucco with painted stone coping to the parapet,
plain pilasters, plinth, raised surrounds with keystones to
the openings, plain tile roof with brick stacks to the gable
ends. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Keyed and
raised surrounds to all openings, square-headed except
semicircular arched window above door. The door with an
overlight, slightly to right of centre, has a C20 horned
2/2-pane sash window above it. Where the parapet is stepped up
is a low-relief plaster galloping horse, the sign of a local
brewer indicating that this was once a public house. The
flanking first-floor windows are plate-glass sashes with
margin panes, that to left has horns and to the far left is a
smaller plate-glass sash over a side door. The ground floor
has C20 plate-glass shop windows, 2 to right, one to left.
INTERIOR noted as having cased beams of earlier structure.
