2/61 Holt Mill House

Public house, probably late C18; now house. Watershot coursed sandstone
(painted white) with stone dressings (black); concrete tile roof with
gable chimneys. Double-pile 3-bay plan. Two storeys. Front has
dressed quoins, and an eaves band with gutter brackets; door offset
right-of centre has rectangular surround with imposts and a fanlight;
there are coupled windows on both floors to left, and 3 other windows,
all with plain stone surrounds. Both gables have attic windows; rear
has inter alia a 4-tier stairlight composed of coupled windows (bottom
level, to cellar, now blocked and concealed, 3rd level altered), a
coupled and a triple window at 1st floor. Interior: vaulted cellar.
