LISKEARD

Large villa. 1829-30. Possibly by George Wightwick for J Lyne.
Stucco on masonry with moulded strings to ground and 1st
floors; dry slate roofs, hipped central roof behind parapet;
octagonal stucco chimneys. Irregular plan extended later C19.
Tudor-Gothic style. 2 storeys; 1:3:1-bay south front. Side
bays as single-storey lean-tos; bays divided by set-off
buttresses; 4-centred arched openings with labels; 2- and
3-light windows with Y-traceried heads. Central gabled
entrance bay broken forward has heavily moulded central
doorway with traceried spandrels, pointed double doors with
moulded vertical panels; also side doorways. Left-hand return
has central gabled porch break. Rear has some original
glazing. INTERIOR not inspected as unoccupied at time of
survey but former list description mentions 'contemporary
features.'
