Schoolroom with shop attached to
Wesley Methodist Church

GV II

Schoolroom of nonconformist chapel, now a shop. 1890.
Slatestone rubble with granite and stucco details; rag slate
roof with pediment at the front. Deep plan. Italianate style.
2 storeys; symmetrical 1:3:1-bay front with pedimented central
bays with moulded cornice and 1st-floor Venetian windows over
3 flat-headed ground-floor windows; pilasters flanking the
central bays and similar end pilasters; plain granite
pilasters to ground floor; channelled rustication to those
above. End bays have 6-panel doors and overlights set back to
form porches and with small windows to 1st floor. All windows
are original horned sashes. INTERIOR not inspected. Included
for group value.
