Free-standing row of cottages. Late C18 or early C19. Flemish
bond brickwork, slate and tile roof, brick stack. A short row
with mansard roof and half-hipped ends, standing back from and
at right angles to Nos 51 & 52 Barton Street (qv).
2 storeys and attic, each 1-windowed. No.2 has a 2-light C20
raking dormer above 2-light casement with transom, and at
ground floor a wide 3-light C20 casement to a segmental head
and a C20 gabled porch over a C19 6-panel door. No.3 is
similar, with the porch to the left, and No.4 has late C20
replacement windows at first floor and attic, with a wide
multi-pane C20 bow to the ground floor. The left gable,
rendered, has a large external stack, and there is a ridge
stack between Nos 2 & 3. The right gable is also rendered, and
the back has various C20 extensions. The roof has slate to the
lower part and tile to the upper slope of the mansard.
