Cemetery chapel. 1879. Coursed sandstone rubble, slate roofs
with red cockscomb ridge tiles. Gothic style. Nave on
north-south axis with north chancel, low west aisle, coupled
east transepts, south-west tower incorporating porch, and
north-west vestry. Short nave has angle buttresses, 2-centred
arched window in south gable wall, low west aisle with 5 small
octagonal windows and ashlar parapet, a dormer window in the
roof of the nave above this; square tower of 2 unequal stages
has set-back buttresses up to belfy level, corner pilasters to
this, and a pyramidal spire with tall finial terminating with
a weathervane; 2-centred arched doorway with moulded surround,
hoodmould, gablet and cast-iron gates, and a tall louvred
lancet in each side of the belfry. Low gabled vestry has angle
buttresses and 2-centred arched doorway in gable wall.
Interior not inspected. With Nonconformist chapel (q.v.) and
Roman Catholic chapel (q.v.), forms part of intact set of 3
cemetery chapels, of varied form but matching style.
