Petherton Cottage

GV II

Cottage at right-angle to the road with gable end toward
street. Early C19. Limestone rubble with brick dressings to
window openings; slate roof with stepped stone coping, moulded
kneelers and brick stack to gable end. Trapezoid plan.
2 storeys; 3-window range to west front. Flight of steps up to
left-of-centre C20 planked door which is flanked by a 3-light
window to right and a 2-light to the left, all under wooden
lintels; 2 windows to far left are C20 insertions. Street
front (south) has one 2-light casement to each floor, that to
the ground floor is approx 3m above street level.
INTERIOR: No indication as to date, but there is said to be a
well under the kitchen to the rear. Included for group value.
