GV II

House. c1820, with mid C19 alterations. Brick with stucco
basement and bay window, painted ashlar dressings and hipped
slate roof with single gable and rear wall stacks. Plinth,
basement lintel band, ground floor and first-floor sill bands,
wooden gutter and brackets. 3 storeys plus basement; 3-window
range. Windows are mainly plain sashes with multi keystone
lintels. Grimston Street front has 2 windows and a blank to
the right, and above, similar fenestration with smaller
windows. Central wooden doorcase with panelled pilasters and
scroll brackets, round-arched recess with steps to part glazed
fielded 6-panel door. To left, a plain sash, to right a blank
window. Basement has to left a C20 single-pane window. Right
return, to Jarratt Street, has a full height bow window with a
plain sash on each of the lower floors and an 8-pane sash on
the second floor. Basement has a 12-pane sash flanked to left
by a C20 panelled door. Outside, to Jarratt Street, iron
railings with gate.
