ARRETON

SZ58NW Little East Standen
1353-0/2/46

GV II

House. Early to mid C19, possibly with earlier core. Built of
Isle of Wight stone rubble with ashlar quoins and slate roof
with 3 clustered brick chimneystacks. Irregular plan and
fenestration, 2 storeys and attics, 3 windows. Front has 2
gables, one projecting through 2 storeys with stone coping and
kneelers. 3 C19 cambered mullioned and transomed casements.
Projecting gabled off central porch with arched doorcase.
Plinth. This house was remodelled c1900 by a Mr H G Young but
is reputed to have C17 origins. Interior not seen.
