Terrace of houses, now flats. 1843 Wyatt Papworth. Stucco with
slate hipped roof. 4 storeys with basement and later attic,
37 bays, five 3-bay projecting blocks to centre, ends and
between, 5 bays between each of these. Ground floor has
channelled rustication and cornice, sill courses and top
modillioned cornice. Central block has panelled frieze below
2nd floor windows, frieze with Vitruvian scroll below 3rd
floor windows, top consoled frieze, and rusticated quoins.
Windows above ground floor have architraves, those to 2nd
floor have gable panels over. Most windows are sashed with
glazing bars. Central entrance has Doric porch with
balustrade over, other entrances have round heads with
archivolts, central and end projecting blocks flanked by
extruded entrance bays of 2 or 3 storeys with balustrades
over ground floors. Stone piers and iron panels to areas,
except to end blocks. 1st floor iron verandahs to rear of
building. 3 iron lamp standards with lamps to front of
house.
