House. C18. 2 storeys, 2 window plastered clay lump, facing N
with gabled pantiled roof. Mid C20 one and a half storeys
pantiled rear extension with internal gable chimney. Single
storey steep corrugated iron pitched roof stable on right. Clay
lump walling throughout house and stable, exposed inside latter.
2 room plan with only one heated room. Internal red brick gable
chimney on E with zigzag flue in upper room. Single irregular
tie beam at centre of house with central staircase rising under W
side of it. Clay lumps are about 18" long and 6" high. There is
a line of regular indentations near the top edge of each. An
unusual survival of a primitive building technique of house
construction.
