Hadham Hall runs to SE
of Gatehouse

GV II

Forecourt wall. C16 with later repairs. Low red brick retaining
wall between Gatehouse range and Hadham Hall. Runs S and then E.
Offset plinth on lower side, 6 courses higher a brick-on-edge
coping of special, large double-ogee-headed moulded bricks. C18
square brick pier at change of direction topped by damaged
Portland stone carved urn. Interrupted by drive with low modern
brick piers. Wall ramps up to its junction with the S range of
the Hall. Of architectural interest. Important linking element
in group of historic brick structures at Hadham Hall. Completes
enclosure of entrance court on SE.
