Public house. Early C19 with minor alterations, some of
1988-9. Plastered with moulded bands over ground and first
floors. Colossal corner pilaster strips. Dentilled cornice to
slate roof with roughcast end stacks. Pilaster to left does
not continue down to ground floor. Three storeys; regular four
window front, glazing bar sashes, shallower on second floor
than below with second-floor window from right blind. Wide
segmental arch to left on ground floor replacing lefthand
window. Long wing to rear to right of three storeys. Entrance
within arch. Some minor internal fittings; king-post roof to
front range. The hotel now incorporates the adjacent house
(no. 11) which is-separately listed.
